German church targeted with arson and vandalism

Unknown individuals entered St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Sunday, April 21, during normal hours.
They vandalized the church by ripping flower decorations from the benches, destroying sacrificial candles, and igniting paper in various areas.
Despite the destruction, the police report noted that the damage was limited, with only minor damage to a church pew and no fire ignited. The total material damage is estimated at 100 euros.
“It’s alarming to see such disregard for sacred spaces,” commented Carsten Noll, the parish priest of St. John the Baptist Church. He noted that the incident has left the parishioners feeling perplexed and dismayed.
