On the 11th of May, four coffee planters, aged between forty-two and sixty-one years, were decapitated by Islamist extremists on their plantation in Kalimago, Indonesia. All of the victims were Christians.

According to the local press, the murderers belong to the East Indian Mujahidin Islamist group, founded in 2010, and admitted to being affiliated with the Islamic State. The group has less than fifty members in the country currently.

The group had been inactive since 2016, when twenty-eight of its members were arrested.  In November of 2020, they struck again, attacking a Christian village, burned down a Church and massacred a Christian family. After this attack, another thirty-two members of the group have been arrested by the Indonesian army.
