“The Chosen” unveiled its season 5 Last Supper image
The popular streaming series "The Chosen" released a highly anticipated image from its new season, featuring a scene that subtly critiques the controversial Olympics Opening Ceremony.
“Better than the Olympics image?” wrote director and creator Dallas Jenkins on Facebook. “Yeah… I prefer our version,” added Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus, on Instagram.
The Opening Ceremony included drag queens in a performance that appeared to reenact Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper.
While designer Thomas Jolly claimed the inspiration was Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and fertility, the producers contradicted him, stating that The Last Supper was indeed an inspiration.
