A church was set on fire in Austria
On the 28th of March, the Church of St. Peter in Linz (Austria) was severely damaged by a fire. According to the church's parish priest, the fire was placed inside a chapel near the wooden altar.
The fire broke out in the chapel by the wooden altar on Sunday evening, according to Pastor Franz Zeiger. A passer-by noticed the smoke and alerted him. The pastor then saw not only thick smoke but also flames.
An acquaintance who happened to be present grabbed a fire extinguisher and was able to prevent worse things from happening.
Nevertheless, a wooden altar was destroyed, and a statue of the Virgin was damaged. According to the pastor, the church cannot be used due at the moment due to smoke damage.
