Firefighters prevent a church from burning down in Eastern Poland
The fire developed in the parish of the Holy Cross in the city of Lublin. Three fire brigades arrived on the scene to stop the flames.
The firefighters received a report of clouds of smoke rising above the church in the early afternoon. “Three fire brigades appeared on the scene. A plastic curtain at the entrance to the church caught fire,” a spokesman for the fire brigade later reported.
Happily, the church was empty when the fire started so nobody was injured.
However, the curtain and the vicinity of the church entrance were burnt; the building is still filled with smoke.
