Shooting in a private Christian school leaves three dead in Wisconsin
At least five people, including the shooter, have died, and six others were injured in a shooting at a private Christian school in Wisconsin, authorities confirmed.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes stated at a press conference on Monday that officers were dispatched to Abundant Life Christian School, located at 4901 E. Buckeye Road, at 10:57 a.m. local time following reports of an active shooter.
Upon arrival, police discovered several victims with gunshot wounds. A deceased juvenile, believed to be the shooter, was also found at the scene. Barnes emphasized that no officers discharged their weapons during the incident.
The six wounded individuals were transported to a local hospital, though their conditions remain undisclosed.
As of 12:35 p.m. central time, officers were still working to secure the campus. Barnes reassured the community that there is no ongoing threat to area schools and described the event as “a sad day for our community and for our country.”
