In India, another Christian organization was banned from receiving foreign funds

The NGO, working mainly to help children, has a long history in the country. Currently, they provide humanitarian care for almost 3,000,000 children and their families all over India. Without foreign contributions, their work will be significantly harder because of the lack of in-country funds.

World Vision India is one of the biggest Christian non-governmental organization in India. Now the Indian government has banned the organization from receiving funds from abroad.

The organization puts its main emphasis on helping children and their families. Currently, they are providing humanitarian services to almost 3,000,000 children and their families in most of the states, all over India.

The home ministry that is responsible for canceling the NGO’s FCRA registration did not give any reason for the cancellation.

The organization received a large portion of its funds from abroad. For them, the loss of these funds means they have to curb the projects supported by these donations.

It is not the first time that a Christian organization has been banned from receiving donations. The current Hindu-nationalist leadership of the country is actively campaigning against Christian organizations.

Among numerous organizations, they targeted the Missionaries of Charity, the organization of Mother Theresa, Compassion International USA, and Caritas International as well.
