A Dutch church was vandalised and set on fire
On the 13th of September, unidentified individuals entered the Willibrordus Church in Mill, Netherlands, and set fire to the candle stand by placing paper on the candles.
This resulted in a thick layer of wax on the floor and the church being covered in soot. This incident is not the first time the church has been targeted.
In previous acts of vandalism, the stained glass windows were shattered, and burglars attempted to break into the collection boxes.
The parish is now considering ways to better protect the church. While exploring options such as video surveillance, they aim to preserve the chapel as a peaceful, private space for visitors to pray or light a candle.
