Thieves left excrement in an Italian church

On February 26, thieves broke into the church of the Madonna dei Sette Dolori in Vasto and stole offerings from the donation box.

The perpetrators furthermore left human excrement on the floor of the church. The parish priest expressed his shock and disgust about this gesture of degradation and disrespect.

It is not the first time that the churches of Vasto have been the target of vandals and petty thieves: just a few months ago in the church of San Marco Evangelista a man had snuck into the parish priest’s office to steal the money.

Don Luigi Smargiassi declared that he was shocked and disgusted by what happened in his church, underlining the importance of respecting places of worship and the faith of those who participate in them.
