The tendency for apostasy is on the rise in Poland

In the Polish Church, “a wave of apostasy is rising among young people”, said Archbishop of Lodz, Grzegorz Ryś, referring to the results of a survey conducted by CBOS among Poles aged 18 to 24.

“I think that on the part of the Church the most important question is: how much is our fault? What have we neglected? – assessed the hierarch.

“Undoubtedly, we have a lot to do here,” he added.

The report “Young Poles in CBOS 1989-2021” shows that in the 18-24 age group, the percentage of people declaring their faith fell from 93 percent in 1992 to 71 percent in 2021. Archbishop Grzegorz Ryś, the metropolitan of Lodz, was asked what, in his opinion, was the cause of this.
