Twenty-four graves desecrated by children in French cemetery
Twenty four graves were desecrated last Tuesday in the French village of Flagnac. "Funerary objects have been overturned or have disappeared, or many have been broken," laments Pierre Tieulié, the local mayor.
“The depravities were mainly committed in the lower part of the cemetery. A person saw a man accompanied by two children who picked up broken objects. Later, I received the call from a resident of the village, grandfather of one of the children, who announced to me that his grandson, who lives in the village, and a little girl on vacation were the authors of the destruction,” explained the city counsellor.
The local police came to inspect the damage and opened an investigation. The children, aged ten and twelve, accompanied by their parents, acknowledged the facts. Mayor Pierre Tieulié filed a complaint with the police on Wednesday.
