A nun was assaulted inside an Italian church
On November 4, a nun was violently assaulted near Largo di Torre Argentina in Rome. The incident began when the nun noticed a man behaving suspiciously near the tabernacle and attempted to intervene.
She was met with aggression, as the man struck her multiple times in the face when she tried to push him away. The attacker, identified as a 27-year-old man of Nigerian origin, was subsequently arrested by police.
According to reports, the man had entered the church with his hood raised and a watchful stance, which immediately drew the nun’s concern. Worried he might vandalize or steal from the sacred space, she approached him and asked him to leave. Instead, he responded with unexpected violence, hitting her repeatedly in the face.
The nun fell to the ground, injured by the assault. Passers-by quickly intervened, calling the police. The attacker fled but was soon located by officers and taken into custody.
