North Korea entering the Russia-Ukraine war increases risks for Christians

North Korea has escalated its involvement in Russia’s war against Ukraine by reportedly sending troops to support Russia’s military efforts, as reported by The Washington Post.
This follows North Korea’s ongoing provision of weapons and ammunition to Russia after the two nations formalized a mutual defense pact over the summer, in which North Korean leader Kim Jong Un promised full support for Russia in the conflict.
The growing partnership between Russia and North Korea has raised concerns among the United States, South Korea, and Japan, who have been engaged in discussions about Russia’s increasingly aggressive actions in Ukraine. U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell described the situation as “alarming,” according to MSN.
South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun echoed these concerns, telling The Washington Post that North Korea’s involvement could expand, with the possibility of more troops being deployed to assist Russia. He added, “We are preparing for that scenario.”
From Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s viewpoint, North Korea has effectively entered the war. Speaking via United24Media, Zelenskyy warned that any country aiding Russia will face strong retaliation. “We will work with our partners to ensure Russia’s plans fail,” he stated, expressing confidence that this outcome is achievable.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a warning that Russia would consider using nuclear weapons if attacked by any NATO member, as reported by MSN. Some analysts believe Russia could potentially target NATO by 2030, or even earlier.
