Statues of Mary and Joseph beheaded in Belgium
The statues of Joseph and Mary were found beheaded at the Nativity scene in Schaffen (Belgium) on 14 December.
According to local residents, it is not the first time vandals have struck at the nativity scene. An increasing number of similar acts of vandalism have been reported in Belgium in the last years.
Attacks on Christian symbols have unfortunately become commonplace and their perpetrators rarely face legal consequences for their acts.
