California withdraws restrictions on religion after Supreme Court ruling

California is withdrawing from COVID-19 restrictions on religion deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

California is one of the most restrictive states in terms of COVID-19 restrictions. Under the guise of fighting the pandemic, left-wing politicians also introduced the strictest restrictions on religious freedom in the country.

Democratic Governor Gavim Newsom banned public church services and “singing and shouting,” which, according to experts advising him, increased the risk of transmission of the virus.

The governor fought a court battle over the case with Republican politician Ritesh Tandon, which eventually ended up in the Supreme Court. The verdict turned out to be devastating for Newsom. The court overturned the Court of Appeal’s ruling, stating that the restrictions introduced in California were unconstitutional because they violated the provisions on religious freedom.

“This is the fifth time a court has dismissed the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal’s analysis of California’s COVID restrictions on religious practice,” the Supreme Court ruling said.
