In Scotland, most hate crime victims are Catholic
Intolerance Against Christians reports recent figures showing that Catholics are the most common victims of religious prejudice and hate crimes in Scotland.
Forty-two per cent of religiously motivated hate crimes are perpetrated against Catholics, compared to twenty-six per cent against Muslims and ten per cent against Protestants.
Assistant Chief Constable Gary Ritchie expressed that hate crime is an “under-reported offence”, which means that victims “can be targeted on numerous occasions before they report to our officers”
