At the online gala, the world champion of 2018  auctioned some of his most emblematic jerseys.

“It is unimaginable to see so many persecuted Christians in the world today,” writes the Olivier Giroud Association. We have to talk about it; we have to raise awareness for the persecution of Christians. The funds collected will thus be used to support sports infrastructure projects and educational assistance in northern Cameroon, Mali and Mauritania, where the jihadist terrorist group Boko Haram is particularly present.

The auction was online, on Jumblebee, and it finished on the 6th of December, 2020. By midnight on Sunday, more than twelve thousand euros were raised, that was two thousand euros more than expected.

If already nearly ten thousand euros had been collected this Saturday, by day’s end, it would take “3,000 more to build a training centre in Mali”, specified the chaplain of international sport and president of Holistic Sports, Joël Thibault, before the end of the auction.
