Argentina legalises abortion “on demand” until the fourteenth week of pregnancy

The Argentine Senate voted to allow the killing of a conceived child up to fourteen weeks of pregnancy. Until now, abortion was allowed only in cases of rape or where a threat to the mother's life existed.
Crowds of abortion supporters gathered outside the parliament building. When the vote was announced, the celebration began in the streets of Buenos Aires. Revolutionary circles hope that the rest of Latin America will follow Argentina’s example.
President Alberto Fernández promised to introduce “abortion on demand” in Argentina before the elections.
