Repeated acts of desecration in Sicily

In just a few days, two Sicilian churches have been desecrated in the city of Caltanissetta. The perpetrators damaged altars and scattered consecrated hosts on the floor.
“The vandals opened the tabernacle and took the ciborium. In addition, they stole [sacred] vessels with holy oil” says the Roman Catholic Facebook page.
In the collegiate church of St. Agnes, the display case of the sleeping Madonna was destroyed. The reclining figure contained within was robbed of a golden brooch that formed part of her mantle; the hand was also taken.
Fortunately, the suspects of the profanations are already in the hands of the police.
