Catholic priest subject to death threats by LGBT supporters in the USA
A Catholic-Chaldean priest from the United States faced a wave of hatred from LGBT environments. The insults even escalated into death threats. This hate speech was in response to a video posted by the priest in which he explains that Christians should not participate in the celebration of "Pride Month".
In June, various types of companies and institutions will join the “celebration” of homosexual ideology, by hanging rainbow flags on their buildings among other activities.
The Chaldean Catholic priest Simon Esshaki of El Cajon, California, spoke out against this. He published a short video on TikTok in which he reminds Catholics that they are not allowed to join any initiatives related to the promotion of LGBT ideology.
“Christians should not support Pride Month (…) not because we hate men and women who are attracted to same-sex people. Rather, because we know that in accordance with natural law and God’s law, marriage is a relationship of a woman and a man,” the priest explained.
As a result of the publication of this video, a wave of hate comments flooded his account. Commentators unambiguously asked where he and his family live; they threatened to kill him. The TikToc platform also blocked his account.
