Kenya: three people assassinated by Islamists
A bus that linked Mandera to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, was attacked on February 19 on its route by Islamist activists, probably members of the Somali terrorist group al-Shabaab in Banisa (Mandera County).
The Islamists shelled the vehicle and its tires with bullets, preventing the driver from fleeing the attack.
As they usually do, they asked the 47 passengers to recite the chahada, the Muslim profession of faith.
Two Christians, Peter Kilonzo Musili and Kevin Onyango, who did not know or wanted to recite it, were killed. A Muslim passenger, Abdi Abinoor, who had courageously attempted to intervene to protect them, was also shot dead.
