Muslims pray in front of Santa Maria Maggiore church in Rome
On January 21, Muslim migrants held a street prayer in public space in front of the stairs of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, before demonstrating to obtain a renewal of their residence permit.
A video published on social media on January 21, 2020 shows the reality of what is now happening is more and more European cities. In some British and French cities, these kind of scene are becoming common place.
Islamic culture is showing its presence proudly and in this case, loudly too. Chants chants of “Allahu Akbar” could be heard all around the place.
This gathering organized by a group of migrants who decided to pray in such a symbolic place had no authorization from the local authorities whatsoever.
