A church was set on fire in Germany

On December 15, a fire broke out in a pile of rubbish and bulky waste located behind a building that houses both the Bremen police station and the Free Church welfare office.

Although the police station was unharmed, the Christian welfare center sustained material damage estimated at approximately €20,000. Authorities suspect arson, and the State Security Department of the Bremen police has launched an investigation.

A statement claiming responsibility for the attack was published on the website tumulte.org, which is believed to be operated by left-wing extremists.

The statement alluded to 2024 being a year of anticipated state violence and repression, to which the authors intend to respond with direct action.

The anonymous author wrote, “Last night we detonated tyres and a large incendiary device containing 20 liters of petrol behind the Bremen-Burg police station and the Free Christian Community, hitting two targets at once.”

The statement also revealed their intention to target the Christian welfare center due to its traditional family views and opposition to abortion.
