Christians killed and a pastor kidnapped by herdsmen
Fulani herdsmen carried out multiple attacks against Christians in Nigeria. At the end of November and again at the beginning of December, they attacked and killed at least two people, wounding more and kidnapping a pastor and other believers.
Fulani herdsmen carried out multiple attacks against Christians in Nigeria. The herdsmen attacked a group of people, killing one of them on December 1 in Gwanje village, Akwanga County, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. According to a witness who spoke to Christian Daily International-Morning Star News, the herdsmen came into the village and opened fire at a group of people.
“At about 8 p.m. I was resting in my house when I heard gunshots. A neighbor ran into my house and said some armed herdsmen shot at them as they were infront of the house of our neighbor, Barnabas Para. When the attackers left, we went to the scene of the shooting and found Barnabas dead.”
Around the same time, in Ntsakpe village, a group of herdsmen carried out another attack. They killed one Christian and kidnapped another. On the same day, a group of armed men kidnapped Joseph Haruna Kigbu, former member of the National Assembly, and his wife. During the kidnapping, the bandits killed Mr. Kingbu’s security aide.
Just days before the incidents, on November 28, Fulani herdsmen attacked the predominantly Christian Ningo village. The attack had no fatalities, but the herdsmen managed to kidnap four Christians, including Pastor Charles Joshua of Living Faith Church.
