Islamic State kills at least ten people in Mozambique

The Islamist fighters burned down homes and a church and massacred ten civilians in separate attacks. Because of the attacks, more than 14,000 people were forced to leave their home in recent weeks.

Since the beginning of Islamist insurgencies in the province of Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique, thousands of people were killed by the Islamists, and even more had to leave their homes behind in order to save their lives.

The latest ones, in the long list of crimes of the terrorist organization Islamic State-Mozambique (IS-M), were carried out at the end of November. Fighters of the Islamic State-Mozambique attacked a Christian village in Ancuabe District, Cabo Delgado Province, killing six civilians. Around the same time in Ituri Province, the militants took hostage four villagers and executed them.

On November 27, Islamist fighters carried out an attack against a village in Chiúre District of Cabo Delgado. Here the terrorists burned down several houses and the church as well, but nobody lost their lives in the violence. Following the widespread violence, more than 14,000 people had to leave their homes in Chiúre and Anacuabe districts alone.
