The video, as reported by Open Doors UK, depicts an armed militant in fatigues speaking Hausa and openly declaring his goal to eliminate “infidels.”

One victim is identified by the militant as his younger sister, stating, “She’s among the infidels we will kill today.” He goes on to say he would execute even his own mother or child — anyone “who goes against our religion.”

Before the executions, he vowed, “Wherever there is an infidel, we will go and find them and execute them ourselves.”

“Boko Haram extremists have made it clear that they are waging a jihad against those they deem ‘infidels’ — anyone who doesn’t adhere to their extreme interpretation of Islam,” said John Samuel, Open Doors’ legal expert for sub-Saharan Africa (a pseudonym). He emphasized that Christians are particularly at risk, as they are frequently targeted due to their faith.

While the other victims’ faiths are not confirmed, Open Doors UK noted that Christians in the region remain particularly vulnerable, as they are often prioritized as targets under Boko Haram’s classification of “infidel.”
