Graffitis smeared on French chapel

It was with astonishment that a walker noticed that tags had been drawn on the wall on the south side of the chapel of Piétat, located in the countryside, away from the village, in the direction of the Bois du Luc. It seems that these tags were affixed during Sunday, January 23.

Acts of vandalism sometimes disturb the calm of this place. In the past, the zinc descents set up by parish volunteers had been stolen; a few months ago, a cross surmounting the tomb installed near the chapel had been found on the ground and partly broken at the base.

It seems clear that the perpetrator wanted to voluntarily degrade the oratory. Local elected officials and parish leaders have been notified of this regrettable act.
