Zsolt Semjén and Tristan Azbej visit Armenia

The two politicians went to Armenia for a religious, diplomatic and humanitarian visit.

 

Zsolt Semjén, Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary and Tristan Azbej, State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians and Hungary Helps Program, visited Ecsmiadzin in Armenia yesterday. The Hungarian politicians met Karekin II. Katholikos, head of the Armenian Church.

During the visit, the participants praised the strong cultural and universal relations between the two countries and agreed that the mission of the two Christian countries is the same: to protect Christian values.

Patriarch Karekin expressed his happiness and gratitude towards the Hungarian government and the Hungary Helps Program for the humanitarian aid to Armenia during the last two years.

After the visit,  Tristan Azbej wrote on his Facebook page:

“It was a great pleasure to receive a university award along with Deputy  Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén for helping with the organisatioin. For me, it is not only a humanitarian  but a personal affair, as I have Armenian roots in my family, originated from Transilvania.”
