The Mayor of Paris considers Ramadan as “part of French cultural heritage”

Anne Hidalgo, the socialist Mayor of the French capital, recently published a tweet in which she expressed her opinion that the Muslim Ramadan is a "part of French cultural heritage." It is interesting to point out that no Easter wishes were published on her Twitter account.
The lack of religious references from the socialist mayor is understandable; besides, she professes “republican secularism.” However, her statements about Ramadan show that the Mayor of Paris may be a person with considerable gaps in culture and knowledge, at least in some respects.
Anne Hidalgo stated that “Ramadan is a festival that is part of the French cultural heritage. Celebrating it is part of it and does not contradict secularity.”
