Imam sued in Senegal for insulting Christians

A Christian community in Senegal sued an Imam for hurting their religious feelings.

A Senegalese Imam made the following statement on the website 360afrique.com:

“People say that 95% of the inhabitants of Senegal are Muslim. This means that 5% of the population succeeded in legalising alcohol, adultery, homosexuality, dance…”

The local Christian community felt offended by this statement, and after collecting two thousand signatures, a group of Christians deposited a complaint against the Imam with the courts.
