The faithful can take part in church services again in Spain
Since Monday, Catholics in Spain can again participate at Masses, services and prayers organised in churches. The decision was approved by a government decree.
According to the new regulation, participants of services must observe several rules, including the obligation to wear protective masks, as well as to keep a meter distance between themselves. Their number in the temple must also be no more than thirty percent of the temple’s seats.
In addition, Masses are to be shorter, without a choir. It is also forbidden to kiss religious objects and to use holy water fonts at the entrance. The distribution of songbooks and paper publications is also prohibited.
Some restrictions on participation at funerals have also been lifted since Monday. A maximum of fifteen people can now attend the ceremonies in contrast to the previous limit of four close relatives. Prayers at the deceased’s casket are now permitted where up to fifteen people can be present at the graveside or ten people in the case of closed rooms.
