Providing aid to displaced Christians in Iraq is not guaranteed

International Christian Concern: A number of Catholic charities in Iraq are raising the alarm because of COVID-19 quarantine restrictions as they are unable to access Christians who are still internally displaced by ISIS.

 

Providing humanitarian and other means of support in Iraq is uncertain because of restrictions introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

These charities are based in the KRG (Kurdish Regional Government), but often work in the Nineveh Plains, which is a disputed territory between the KRG and ICG, ICC reported.

Humanitarian groups have repeatedly warned that there is no infrastructure in place in Nineveh which can accurately measure and address the coronavirus.
