Unknown persons have drawn Satanic symbols on the Cathedral of Coutances in France

The drawings were discovered on the 5th of January. The Bishop’s office has since filed  a formal complaint with the police.

The Satanic symbol, composed of a triple six, and a pentagram, were drawn on the exterior wall of the Cathedral of Countances in Normandy.

The graffiti was discovered by the sacristan on the 5th of  January at 8 P.M. Fr. Daniel Jamelot, Rector of the Cathedral later lodged an official complaint with the police on behalf of the Diocese against the perpetrators who are still unknown to the authorities.

This attack was not the first of its kind in Normandy. In Calvidos, on New Year’s Eve, a Protestant church was defaced with Satanic drawings. Similar graffiti appeared on the walls of houses in Condé-sur-Noireau on the same night.

After the incidents, Etienne Fels,  President of the Protestant Presbyteral Council said: “We do not know the meaning of these acts, but we were both affected and offended by these Satanic messages.”

The police still have not found the perpetrators of the attacks.  Both Catholic and Protestant Churches fear similar attacks in the future.
