In June of this year, the  Minister of State for International Affairs of the Ministry of Human Capacities, Dr Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich and the Deputy State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians, Tristan Azbej held discussions with the Minister for Humanitarian Aid Programmes Beata Kempa from the Polish Prime Minister’s Office.

At the invitation of the Polish ambassador to Hungary, Jerzy Snopek, the Minister of State for International Affairs of the Ministry of Human Capacities Dr Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich and Deputy State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians Tristan Azbej from Hungary met the Polish Minister for Humanitarian Aid Programmes Beata Kempa on the 28th of  June in Budapest.

The Deputy Secretary of State emphasised that Hungary is taking advantage of every opportunity to actively advocate for the protection of persecuted Christians.

“It is of paramount importance for us to support the Christian communities in the Middle East and Africa as well as to help these communities survive.”

Both officials agreed that both humanitarian and developmental assistance should be increased by sending support directly to the troubled regions. This should be done in such a way that the local population could utilise it to the greatest extent possible.

As the Ministry of Human Resources reported, Dr Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich expressed her willingness to further coordinate the humanitarian aid programmes of both nations, thereby further strengthening, in all areas, the excellent bilateral relations that exist between the two countries.
