Christian evangelist killed by Muslim extremists in Uganda

Murdered evangelist killed

The Ugandan Christian man participated in an evangelistic event, during which 18 Muslims converted to Christianity. One evening during the event, a group of Muslim extremists surrounded the evangelist and demanded he leave his faith. When he denied, the extremists, armed with weapons, killed him.

A six-day evangelistic event was scheduled at the Nawaikoke trading center in Kaliro District, Uganda. The event was organized by evangelists from different Pentecostal churches in Uganda and started well without any complications. In the first three days, 18 Muslims converted to Christianity. However, a tragedy overshadowed the great start of the event.

On the evening of the third day of the event, evangelists Emmanuel Dikusooka and Jack Mbulante were surrounded and held up by a group of Muslim extremists on their way back to their accommodation. The extremists, armed with swords and heavy blunt objects, took away their bags filled with Christian books and Bibles and threw them into the river. Then they wanted to force the evangelists to leave their faith and recite the Quran. When they refused, the Muslim men got agitated and attacked them.

They threw them all into the River Lumbuye, then ordered us to hold the Quran up that they had and told us to recite and swear in the name of Allah. They tried to force us to renounce Jesus Christ and our faith and then embrace the Islamic faith. We openly refused, which angered them, and they hit Dikusooka with an iron bar on the head, and he fell down.”

Jack Mbulante said to Morning Star News in an interview. He managed to escape by jumping to the river. As he got away, he gathered other Christian men to go back and save his fellow church member. However, when they got back, it was too late. The Muslim extremists already killed Emmanuel Dikusooka.

But unfortunately, when we arrived at the scene of the incident, Dikusooka was dead in a pool of blood. He had deep head injuries, cuts at the neck and back and an injured mouth.”

Remembered back Mbulante to the incident. A case was filed with the police, who are currently investigating and looking for the killers. Emmanuel Dikusooka was 29 years old and a husband and father of three children under 10.
