Fulani herdsmen kidnap a group of Christians in Nigeria
On Friday, Fulani herdsmen abducted four Christians in a raid on villages in north-central Nigeria, according to local sources. The victims, including one woman, were taken from two predominantly Christian villages, Mai-Iddo and Arikon, in Kaduna state's Kachia County, said resident Festus Audu. Audu identified the attackers as Fulani herdsmen, referring to them as "bandits."
“At around 5 p.m. on Nov. 1, while the Christians were working on their farms, the bandits—armed with deadly weapons—seized four of them,” Audu told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News in a text message. “This marks the second assault on Mai-Iddo village in the past two months.” He added that the herdsmen had previously attacked Mai-Iddo on 17 October, abducting four Christian women and a child.
Area resident Peter Madaki reported a similar incident on May 19, when Fulani herdsmen attacked Mai-Goro, another Christian village in Kachia County.
In that incident, seven Christian girls and women were kidnapped at gunpoint, including 13-year-olds Elizabeth Markus and Alheri Maichibi, 6-year-old Lydia Iliya, 4-year-old Bridget Obadiah, 3-year-old Amama Hassan, 30-year-old Godiya James, and 23-year-old Beauty Mandela.
