French church desecrated
On Saturday, September 21, 2024, a significant act of vandalism occurred at the chapel of Saint-Luc Church in Brest.
The tabernacle on the altar was shattered and set on fire. As a result, the church will remain closed to the public until October 2.
The alarm was raised after the 6 p.m. Mass, when Father Coste and parishioners noticed the smell of smoke and burning coming from the chapel adjacent to the main nave.
Thanks to their swift response, the fire was extinguished before it could spread and cause more damage. A formal complaint has been filed, highlighting the gravity of the desecration.
