Marshall Masih, a 29-year-old resident of the Patiala House area in Lahore, was the primary provider for his elderly parents, wife, and four children, aged between 18 months and 10 years. According to his sister Goshi Yaqoob, 33, the family was asleep at 4:25 a.m. last Wednesday when four armed Muslims, led by Muhammad Shani and Azam Ali, entered their home by cutting through an iron grill on the rooftop.

“The attackers broke into my brother’s bedroom on the first floor, holding him and his family at gunpoint,” Yaqoob told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News. “They then fired indiscriminately at him, hitting him with 16 bullets in front of his wife and young children.”

Yaqoob, who was at her parents’ house nearby, was awakened by the gunfire and the screams of her sister-in-law and nieces and nephews. She rushed to her brother’s house and saw the assailants fleeing to the roof. Entering her brother’s bedroom, she was met with a horrifying scene.

“I was horrified to see his blood-soaked body lying on the floor while his wife and children were huddled in a corner, crying frantically,” she said, breaking down in tears.
