Cardinal Pizzaballa, Patriarch of the Holy Land, in Hungary
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, at the Carmelite Monastery, where they discussed aiding Christians living in the region amidst the ongoing war conflict. The Patriarch also gave several lectures.
During his visit to Hungary, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Patriarch of the Holy Land, will give a lecture titled “The Situation of Christians in the Holy Land” at the Pasarét Community House this afternoon starting at 4 PM, followed by a session for questions from the press. After this, the archpastor will celebrate a Holy Mass at the Franciscan Church in Budapest.
Cardinal Pizzaballa was received by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. During their meeting this morning, the Hungarian Prime Minister and the Jerusalem Patriarch emphasized the importance of avoiding conflicts and hostilities that could lead to the disappearance of Christian communities in the Holy Land.
Hungary, through the Hungary Helps program, will continue to support the survival of Christianity in the Middle East, providing humanitarian and religious support to those living there – as was discussed during the meeting.
