Hungary condemns the attack on Catholics in the Philippines
"Hungary condemns the attack that occurred on Sunday morning in the Philippines and will provide emergency aid to the relatives of the injured and deceased," announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, pointed out that on Sunday morning in Marawi City in the Philippines, a bombing attack occurred at a Catholic service, during which at least four believers lost their lives, and many were injured.
As a thousand-year-old Christian country, we consistently stand up for Christians in every part of the world and deeply condemn the attack on Catholics practicing their religion, which additionally took place on the first Sunday of Advent,” wrote the minister in his post.
Péter Szijjártó also announced that Hungary sympathizes with the affected families and will provide five million forints in emergency aid to the relatives of the injured and deceased through the Catholic Caritas of the Philippines.
