On World Prematurity Day, the Hungary Helps Agency donated a new world-class incubator. At the celebration held in the Medicor Industrial Center, Secretary of State Tristan Azbej welcomed the many decades of work of Medicor Co., which, according to his words, serves a noble purpose alongside economic activity, saving vulnerable children’s lives, helping families, and contributing to the birth of wanted children.
The Secretary of State highlighted that Hungarian international development policy has changed in recent years. They believe that migration is not the solution to the world’s economic, humanitarian, and other crises; instead, it is necessary to help the affected communities remain in place. He added that the Hungarian government’s main endeavour is to take on a more significant role in Africa and the Middle East in maintaining local peace, security and the stability of staying in one place.
Tristan Azbej also mentioned that Hungary is committed to the implementation of sustainable development goals and results, attributing a significant role to strengthening international development cooperation, especially in contributing to health and well-being. This is demonstrated by Hungary’s execution of international development projects in the field of health and well-being worth 18.8 billion forints within the Hungary Helps program in 2022. He noted that these programs could not be successful without strong and committed economic companies, the private sector players.
Tristan Azbej stated that the Hungarian hospital and medical technology industry is a traditionally defining sector of the Hungarian economy, a national pride, with a history looking back on a significant past. The products of this innovation-based industry are among the world’s elite. The Secretary of State thanked Medicor Co. for donating the newly developed Medicor Babylife hospital newborn incubator to the Hungary Helps program, which will be sent to Chad, where the child mortality rate is very high.
