"With unity and faith, church charities saved the lives of tens of thousands of people," said the State Secretary for Church and Minority Relations at the Prime Minister's Office on Friday in Tihany, on the second day of the interfaith conference.

As the moderator of a roundtable discussion with invited leaders of Hungarian church charities, Miklós Soltész, State Secretary for Church and Minority Relations at the Prime Minister’s Office, emphasized that people were saved in hopeless situations, wars, or natural disasters. The participants named feeling helpless in a particular situation as the biggest challenge they faced.

When asked about how much they could convey the message of Christianity in their aid efforts, the speakers replied that Christianity and “active love” can be made attractive through charitable service.
