Kidnapped by armed men on February 6, 2022, Catholic priest Joseph Shekari was released the next day, we learned from his diocese, that of Kafanchan in Kaduna state.

“Father Joseph Shekari is free. The good news was announced on February 8 by the communication department of the diocese of Kafanchan, in Kaduna State, in north-central Nigeria from which he comes.

The Nigerian priest was abducted on Sunday February 6 around 11:30 p.m. Unidentified armed bandits attacked the presbytery of Saint Monique de Kafachan parish, killed the cook and kidnapped priest, Father Joseph Shekari“.

On the other hand, “we still have no news of the three seminarians kidnapped in October 2021. The facts took place on October 11, at 7:26 p.m., in the chapel of the Christ-Roi Major Diocesan Seminary of Kafanchan.”
