Six civilians killed in two separated terror attacks in the DRC
Six people have died in two separate attacks perpetrated by the Congo-based rebel group Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
“These terrorists killed three civilians overnight, two women and a child, before regular forces arrived,” said Captain Antony Mualushayi, army spokesman in the territory of Beni, North Kivu province, in a Thursday morning statement.
Mualushayi added that the DRC armed forces killed four rebels during the assault.
In a second assault on Thursday, ADF forces killed three more civilians while they were driving to neighbouring Uganda, said Ricardo Rupande, spokesman for a network of NGO’s in the Rwenzori area. During the attack, the jihadists set fire to two trucks after stealing their loads of food.
