Thousands of participants of the 2021 Berlin March for Life
This year, thousands of people, among them bishops, participated in the March for Life in Berlin. The march was closed with an ecumenical worship service at the Brandenburg Gate, celebrated by Bishop Wolfgang Ipolt and a representative of the Serbian-Orthodox Chruch.
The event was organized by the Bundesverband Lebensrecht (BVL). The participants of the “March for Life” gathered in front of the Brandenburg Gate. The BVL, which, due to the coronavirus pandemic, was only able to carry out the demonstration taking into account the hygiene regulations, thanked the police officers who protected the event from attacks by the participants of a counter-demonstration, which was taking place at the same time and the same place.
“We are a growing movement,” emphasized Alexandra Linder, chairwoman of the BVL. On the stage, in addition to various representatives of the right to life movement, abortion survivors and other people affected stood out and told about their life experiences. Representatives from the Christian Church, health care workers and public figures emphasized that abortion should never be the “solution” and that pregnant women are often left too much alone.
EWTN broadcasted the march, and the recording of the whole event is still available here.
