Eleven people died in Al-Shabaab suicide bomb in Somalia

At least eleven people were killed last week in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, via suicide bombing.

“The incident took place in a tea shop in Mogadishu’s Wadajir district and near General Gordon military training camp,” reported All Africa. “The attack was claimed by Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab group fighting to overthrow the Somali government.”

Al-Shabaab is a jihadist terrorist fundamentalist group, which is mainly active in East Africa and Yemen. The terrorist organisation aims to create an Islamic state in Somalia and the neighbouring countries.

Despite an international coalition of forces fighting to secure Somalia against Al-Shabaab, the terrorist group has maintained control over much of Somalia’s southern and southcentral regions.
