Two cemetaries vandalised in Quebec
Gravestones have been vandalised at Saint-Pierre-de-Durham cemetery in L’Avenir. At least five monuments have been toppled, including two broken.
“It’s a place of contemplation,” laments Andrée Charpentier, one of the administrators of the Saint-Pierre-de-Durham factory. This is the first time that we have vandalised monuments. We want to warn the public to keep an eye out. “
This is the second time in weeks that a cemetery in the area has been vandalised. At the beginning of July, at least fifteen tombstones were overturned, and some broken, at the Saint-Frédéric Memorial Garden, in Drummondville.
The police were informed of the situation and attended on Wednesday.
