“Catholics” controlled by Communists celebrate the 100th anniversary of the CCP
Under the slogan "Get to know, thank, listen, follow the Party", the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the local communist party, which has been ruling this country for over seventy years, is being held in China.
Catholics are also participating, especially bishops and priests from the government-controlled Patriotic Association of Chinese Catholics, as well as followers of other religions in the country.
Also included are anniversary seminars, conferences, trips to places of importance to the party, exhibitions and other events that concern all the faithful, as decided by members of the China Bishops’ Council. In a statement issued at the time, it was declared that the centenary now celebrated is “the most significant event for the Church in China.”
From the 12th to the 14th of April, several conferences and visits to places important to communists were held in the south-eastern province of Fujian under the slogan “Love the party, love your homeland, love socialism”.
The official report of these meetings clearly shows that participating Catholics form the “state church” and are completely subject to the ruler. “The national flag was solemnly hoisted at the Catholic Church in Changting. For the first time, five major religions in the province have held a flag-raising ceremony at a place of religious activity.
