Leader of young Christians arrested in Sudan

Osama Saeed Musa Kodi was taken into custody on the 19th of February by the General Intelligence Service for "brainwashing Sudanese citizens".

The authorities told Kodi that Christianity is “bad” and threatened him with death if he would continue spreading the Gospel. The man is the leader of an organisation for young Christians. He had supported the Sudanese Church of Christ (SCOC) in Tamboul after its church was destroyed in an arson attack in January.

The day before his arrest, Kodi had a meeting with the attorney-general of Sudan, and they agreed to organise a press conference that would have taken place on the day when the Christian man was arrested.

The Sudanese government also promised to donate empty plots to the SCOC, to rebuild the four churches destroyed under the previous government.

After all these promises, it is surprising that the government turned against the Christian leader and tried to convince him to stop spreading the Gospel.
