The Hungary Helps Program and the municipality of Székesfehérvár sent donations to Croatia, to help in the rebuilding projects.
The Hungary Helps Program shared on its Facebook page that Hungary provided prompt financial aid to Croatia, and contributed to the reconstruction of a church and a school in the town of Petrinjab, after the December 29th earthquake.
The municipality of Székesfehérvár also provided financial and material help.
Zsolt Lehrner, the Mayor of Székesfehérvár, offered support of one million forints from the city budget after he had received a call from the part of the town’s Croatian sister city, Zadar. The financial support was transferred to the Diocese of Sisak, to help local restoration.
The Major of Zadar thanked the Hungarians for the help in the name of his town and highlighted the importance of the good relationship between the two cities.
The Diocese of Székesfehérvár also collected material and monetary donations. This fundraising was launched under the auspices of Bishop Antal Spányi, President of Caritas.
